Important things you should know about Fees Structure Of MBBS in India or Abroad
MBBS FEES
Students, who are looking forward to MBBS studies in India, have to know the fees of medical studies. According to the NEET guideline, it is mandatory for all government and private colleges to announce their MBBS course fees through state conducting authorities and the medical college Committee (MCC).
MBBS course fees can be varied between government, private, central and deemed universities.
MBBS fees in Private college or university can go between 64 lacs to nearly 1 crore or even more than that, comparatively government colleges where fees are roughly 4 lacs only.
In fact, even students who are getting admission to government quota in private colleges had the best scores, and while students with much lower scores are gaining admission. Obviously, it is not a coincidence the tuition fees of government quota in private colleges are fixed at merely 4 lacs for the same course where students are paying almost a crore to a private college.
Another fact is, some deemed universities do not show the actual fees for undergraduate courses for medical studies. They hiked the MBBS fees by approx. 5 lacs and hidden the extra 1.3 lacs on the website of the medical counseling Committee (MCC).
On the other hand, we can find the hostel fees on the website of most of the universities which are approx. 2 to 3 lacs yearly. However, these universities have also low-cost rooms available but that is not listed on their web page. For instance, in Sri Ramachandra University & research institute’s monthly hostel fees is written 2 lacs instead of 20,000. Due to this, there are so many students who could not go ahead with the admission just because of the higher hostel fees (24 lakhs). The tuition fees are 22 lacs which college takes for MBBS studies. There is something wrong after MCC warning they have not changed the hostel fees from the website.
Besides this, according to fee regulatory committee, Kerala for medical studies, the tuition fees for MBBS have increased by 10% in Kochi private college for 2019-2020 sessions. It is 7.20 lacs per year now instead of 5.85 lakhs which was for till the previous session.
Medical admission scenario is becoming much better due to NEET took steps towards unregulated MBBS admission but medical colleges have to ensure that only deserving and meritorious students get the admission so that students with poor performance cannot use the money power to defeat poor & middle-class students who have scored great in NEET.
