MCI What is MCI? The Medical Council of India was Formed in 1934 under the Indian Medical Council. The main function was to, established the uniform standard of higher qualification in medicine and recognition of medical qualification in India as well as all over the world. But after Independence, there was a steady increase in the Medical Colleges and it was felt that provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act were not adequate to meet with the challenges posed by the very fast development and the progress in medical education in the country.
